Características neuropsicológicas de la psicopatía

Resumen
La psicopatía es un trastorno de personalidad caracterizado por dificultades afectivas e interpersonales y un estilo de vida antisocial, lo cual conlleva rasgos de personalidad como insensibilidad, falta de empatía o culpa y manipulación hacia otras personas. Se ha identificado que existen alteraciones neuropsicológicas relacionadas con la atención y las funciones ejecutivas, especialmente en aquellas asociadas al funcionamiento de la corteza prefrontal ventromedial y orbitofrontal, como el control inhibitorio, el procesamiento riesgo-beneficio o la modulación de arriba-abajo de la atención. La evaluación de las alteraciones cognitivas asociadas a la psicopatía puede contribuir a la comprensión de sus manifestaciones clínicas.
